Although this is the only active, approved industry test, you’ll be hard pressed to see any other shoe provider using this method. Why, because it’s expensive, but it’s the right thing to do to give you an accurate reading.
- This test simulates actual working conditions (weight, shoe, conditions, mode) – the only true measurement with slip resistance in the workplace.
- All safeTstep shoes surpass the minimum requirement for the Whole Shoe Slip Test – ASTM F2913-11. We have all of our shoes tested by a third party lab, Intertek Testing Services. Many of you may be familiar with the Mark II – ASTM F1677, which is no longer a valid test (as of 2006), yet we still test our shoes according to this method as well, since it is still occasionally referenced in the industry.
- In November 2016, Payless purchased its own Whole Shoe Slip Test machine, but Independent test results will still be executed. Having our own machine enables us to test on a more frequent basis.
